The Effects of Social Skill Training Program on Communication Skill and Problem Solving Ability of Middle School Students

Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of social skill training program on communication skill and problem solving ability of middle school students and to develop school based mental health program.
Method: The design of this study was nonequivalent control group pre-post test. The subjects were 129, 2nd. year middle school students. The data were analyzed by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, -test, ANCOVA, paired t-test, and t-test.
Results: There was significant increase on communication skill and problem solving ability in the experimental group compared to controls.
Conclusion: We find that social skill training program was effective for improvement of communication skill and problem solving ability of subjects.
